Terms of Service

By creating an account or using the SHUN app, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use the app.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use SHUN. By creating an account, you represent that you meet this requirement and that all information you provide is accurate.

2. Your Account

• You're responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity under your account.
• You may sign up with email/password, Google, or Apple sign-in.
• You must provide accurate registration information (name, email, date of birth).

3. Respectful Conduct

Treat other members, mentors, and admins with respect. Harassment, hate speech, threats, and abusive behavior are not tolerated anywhere in the app, whether in Spaces, chat, comments, or job/event listings. Violating this may result in content removal, account suspension, or permanent ban, at SHUN's discretion.

4. Spaces (Groups)

• Any member may create a Space; new Spaces are reviewed by admins before becoming publicly visible.
• Space owners and moderators are responsible for keeping their Space's discussions on-topic and within these Terms.
• Admins may remove content, suspend a Space, or remove members that violate these Terms.
• Any member may post to and comment in Spaces they've joined. The shared Library's resources are curated and published by SHUN admins only.

5. Mentorship

Users may apply to become a mentor by describing their area of expertise, relevant professional experience, prior mentoring experience, and motivation. Applications are reviewed by admins. Mentorship connections made through SHUN are between the mentor and mentee directly - SHUN does not supervise these conversations, vet mentors beyond the application review, or guarantee any outcome of a mentorship relationship.

6. Job Board

Any member may submit a job or volunteer listing. Member-submitted listings require SHUN admin approval before becoming publicly visible. SHUN admins may also post listings directly, which are approved immediately. Every listing shows who posted it (the submitting member's name, or "SHUN" for admin-posted listings). Applying to a listing shares your résumé file, cover letter, and profile information with whoever reviews that application. SHUN does not guarantee the accuracy of any job listing or the outcome of any application, and is not a party to any resulting employment relationship.

7. Events and Payments

Any member may create an event; events are visible immediately upon creation, but admins may suspend an event they find suspicious or in violation of these Terms. For ticketed events, payment is processed through a third-party payment processor. SHUN is not the merchant of record for the underlying event unless stated otherwise, and disputes about an event itself are between the attendee and the event's organizer.

8. Content Ownership and License

You retain ownership of the content you post. By posting it, you grant SHUN a license to host, display, and distribute it within the app as needed to operate the service.

9. Prohibited Uses

You may not use SHUN to:

• Post unlawful, defamatory, harassing, or hateful content
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation
• Upload malware or attempt to disrupt or gain unauthorized access to SHUN's systems
• Use the platform for spam, scams, or fraudulent job/event/mentorship listings
• Violate any applicable law

10. Termination

SHUN may suspend or permanently remove any account that violates these Terms, at our discretion. You may deactivate your account at any time (reversible) or permanently delete it (irreversible) from Profile settings.

11. Disclaimers

SHUN is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that any mentorship, job, or event outcome will meet your expectations.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
